My name is Ron Spates. I’m a storyteller first—and always will be.

Before I picked up a brush, I picked up a pen.

Before I ever painted a canvas, I lived through the kind of story that makes you stop… or rise.

As a child, I was an artist—drawing, creating, winning awards in school. But I walked away from it, unsure of the gift I had. I started businesses, became a bodyguard, and wrote books. I built a life.

Then in August 2024, I was hit from behind in a serious car accident. It took away my mobility for a good while, but it gave me something back: my art.

What I thought was a setback was actually a divine redirection.

I picked up the brush again. Not to pass time—but to save myself.

And what came out of that pain was a purpose I’d been holding all my life.

THE BIG CITY OF LOVE

My first book, The Big City of Love, tells a powerful spiritual metaphor:

Developers with money chop down sacred trees—including the Tree of Life—to build a luxury city. But the city fails. No one comes. It dies.

Yet the roots of the Tree of Life keep growing under the concrete.

And when the world is hurting, God sends an angel named Can-Du, the angel of love, to restore it.

In seven days and seven nights, the city is rebuilt—not with shops, but with love.

At the center of the city is the world’s largest hospital for broken hearts.

To enter the city, you have to be healed first.

Because in the Big City of Love, healing is the real entry point.

That story became my mission. It became the spiritual foundation of my art.

In my vision, the Tree of Life pulses in the middle of the city—its golden roots glowing beneath the buildings, reaching every soul.

People don’t just pass it. They kneel beneath it, they heal near it.

It’s the center of restoration, not just for the city—but for the world.
